Lavrov confirms Russia understands Belarus' position on not participating in Ukraine conflict
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that Moscow fully understands Belarus's position on being an ally of Russia but not participating in the conflict in Ukraine.
"We have a very clear position. We fully understand the approach presented by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko: Belarus is our ally, but Belarus is not involved in the war," Lavrov said.
"If someone wants to drag Belarus into this, Alexander Grigoryevich has already responded: 'They will regret it,'" the Russian foreign minister added.
Lavrov noted that during his meeting with Alexander Lukashenko, both sides exchanged views on key issues created by the West regarding the situation in Ukraine and other parts of the European continent. He emphasized that Moscow and Minsk share a unified stance, remain allies, and are committed to their obligations.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated that the West is considering the idea of using the Kyiv regime against Belarus.
