Lion with unusual mane, Han Han, dies at 17 in China
A lion named Han Han, famous for his unusual mane, has died in China at the age of 17.
For many years, zoo staff were accused of styling his mane on purpose. The zoo consistently denied this, saying he licked his paws and straightened his fur himself.
In captivity, lions typically live 20–25 years. By comparison, in the wild they usually live only 10–14 years.
