Lithuania changes school curriculum: Lomonosov removed, Shevchenko added
Lithuania is changing its school curriculum by removing works of Mikhail Lomonosov and making the study of Taras Shevchenko mandatory. The initiative was originally proposed by the Lithuanian Prime Minister, who described Lomonosov as an author who 'glorified Russia's imperial wars,' and suggested replacing him with works of Ukrainian literature to help Lithuanian youth better understand Ukrainian identity. The Ministry of Education, Science and Sport of the Baltic republic has supported this direction and officially approved the decision.
