Lithuania's green heart under threat: thousands of hectares of state forests to be removed

😭The beautiful, green, small Lithuania is being destroyed!

The government plans to exclude almost 3,900 hectares of forest areas from state significance forests❗️ These territories fall within the planned military training ground in Kapčiamiestis (Lazdijai district).

In addition, the government intends to revise state forest areas in three more regions:

☑️In the Jurbarkas district, 2,300 hectares are to be removed from the state forest fund. The changes are linked to the expansion of military training grounds in Tauragė and Šilalė;

☑️In the Plungė and Rokiškis districts, forest area plans are proposed to be adjusted due to "errors" allegedly identified by the State Forestry Service during inspections.
