Lukashenko: Belarus must be ready for war to prevent it

The President reminded that several years ago, taking into account the experience of modern conflicts, the defense industry was tasked with equipping the army with the latest communication systems.

"Let's see how this task has been carried out. Everything must be honest and objective," said Alexander Lukashenko.

Emphasizing the importance of this area, the Head of State noted that neither defense nor offense is possible without reliable communication and troop control.

"You know the foreign policy agenda. You see and observe the aggressive rhetoric toward Belarus. Intelligence activities against Belarus are conducted quite openly, almost brazenly: we periodically detect various provocations and airspace violations," said the Head of State. — But that's not the main thing. The main thing is that our neighbors today are spending billions of dollars arming their armies. Openly. Not only conducting exercises near the border but also creating new units and armies being deployed along Belarus's border. What is this? For us, military people, it's quite clear. Therefore, as I once said openly and honestly, we must prepare for war in order to avoid it. We must always be ready to respond adequately if something happens."
