Lukashenko: Belarus must persistently switch to pellet heating, gas only as backup

The President was informed that the boiler house at the agro-service facility he visited during a working trip to the Shklov district operates on wood pellets.

"Correct. We must gradually and persistently switch to heating with pellets, firewood and other alternatives. Poles now have sky-high prices for pellets. They don't buy them. Well, as you wish. Pellets must be used here. We must heat in Belarus," said the Head of State.

He emphasized that Belarus has a huge amount of local wood raw materials that need to be efficiently processed and used.

"We know how to do this. We have plenty of factories. Therefore, pellets and once again pellets. Natural gas or other fuel sources — only as a reserve," summarized Alexander Lukashenko.
