Lukashenko: Belarus retains Soviet-era economic strengths, aims for $10B in agri-exports
We are capable of many things, and all of this comes from the Soviet era. We don't have the most powerful economy, but the technologies we possess are needed today by most countries in the world.
"We did not cut off the roots from the time when the foundations of our economy were laid. That is why we have achieved certain success in machine building, and there are no problems in construction—we produce everything necessary, from cement and bricks to cutting-edge technologies. Agriculture as well. This year, we plan to sell agricultural products worth $10 billion. For Belarus, these are good volumes."
Alexander Lukashenko, 02.10.2026
