Lukashenko briefed on agriculture, regional economy, and preparation for Belarus-Russia Forum

The head of state has been briefed on the situation in the agro-industrial complex, the socio-economic development of the Minsk region, and preparations for the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia. The main focus of the report was on agriculture: progress in fodder procurement, field conditions, livestock preservation, construction of modern livestock complexes and calf prophylactoriums, and production volumes. Alexander Lukashenko showed particular interest in the quality of fodder storage, which is now the priority over speed. The governor reported that the first mowing is complete and the second has begun in southern districts. Special attention was also given to the construction of prophylactoriums — 111 such facilities are planned to be built in the region in the coming months, with work ahead of schedule. Agricultural production has increased by nearly 7% year-to-date. Crop prospects in the Minsk region are optimistic, with expectations to match last year's grain harvest and an ambitious target of reaching 3 million tons. On socio-economic development, agriculture remains a key growth driver, with positive trends also seen in industry, exports, cargo turnover, and trade. Efforts are ongoing to attract investment into regional and tourism projects to create new jobs and economic growth points. The Minsk region and the capital will host the XIII Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia next week. Governor Alexei Koshcharenko assured the President that the region is fully prepared and intends to use the event to showcase its potential across various sectors.
