Lukashenko congratulates Belarusian customs workers on their 35th anniversary

Alexander Lukashenko congratulated the staff and veterans of the customs service on the 35th anniversary of its establishment and on the professional holiday, Customs Officer Day.

"A new chapter in the history of Belarusian customs began under difficult conditions during an era of change, simultaneously with our country gaining independence. Over three and a half decades, a reliable system has been built from nearly nothing—one that the state rightfully takes pride in today. Having undergone significant modernization, Belarusian customs has become a high-tech tool for protecting the country's economic interests and combating transnational crime.

Thanks to the professionalism, integrity, and dedication of employees, along with continuous improvements in control and effective implementation of digital technologies, the republican budget is steadily replenished and favorable conditions are created for foreign economic activities.

I express special gratitude to veterans who laid the solid foundation of the modern customs service and passed down the best traditions to the younger generation. I am confident that, relying on their rich experience, Belarusian customs officers will continue to solve assigned tasks at the highest level.
