Lukashenko identifies flaws in mobile shop operations

Regarding mobile shops, the Head of State pointed out complaints about both consumer cooperatives and other retail networks. People continue to complain about operating hours, routes, and product assortment.

"I'll tell you frankly: stop fooling around. Serve the population the way authorities decide and demand from you. We will help you, but we will also hold you strictly accountable," the President warned.

A monitoring mission in the Vileyka district conducted by the Presidential Administration showed that even basic products such as apples, onions, beets, and potatoes were missing in some mobile shops, despite customer demand. However, this aspect can be viewed from two angles, as people in rural areas are often able to grow many products themselves.

"We've come to the point in villages where there's no onion, no potato, no beet," noted Alexander Lukashenko. According to him, even in his personal farm, he grows a full set of ingredients for borscht.

"That's from one side. But if there is demand—why aren't we meeting it? That's the other side," the Head of State emphasized.

"Everyone remembers last year's situation with the potato shortage and sky-high prices? Currently, due to seasonality, these issues are less pressing, but winter is not far off. I think there is still work to be done for retail network management, district executive committees, and others. Deal with this today."

According to the State Control Committee (KGC), there are cases of untimely informing the public about changes in mobile shop schedules. There is also noted formalism by local authorities in coordinating routes for private operators, as well as creating unequal operating conditions.
