Lukashenko on agricultural modernization in Vitebsk region
One of the issues discussed at today's meeting was the modernization of agricultural production using the Vitebsk region as an example.
Lukashenko: "At the beginning of the year, we defined a specific step-by-step anti-crisis plan for the Vitebsk region, ranging from financial support to personnel changes. One element of this plan was the transfer of insufficiently efficient enterprises to new owners with competent management capabilities and, most importantly, financial resources."
It was decided to transfer the Orsha Meat Processing Plant to the Dzerzhinsky Agro-Complex and assign certain agricultural organizations in the Orsha district to Savushkin Product. Additionally, a lease agreement was signed for the property of the Polotsk Dairy Plant to ensure its accelerated development.
Lukashenko: "We must understand that our actions and decisions are not a gift to private owners, but rather a burden. We all understand this. In each case, obligations have been fixed regarding the preservation of jobs, production modernization, and repayment of previously accumulated debts. These obligations, of course, are not easy."
