Lukashenko on construction: 'We can build everything, but something is always left undone'

Lukashenko noted that he has an ambiguous impression regarding the construction industry: "We know how to build everything, we can do anything, but somewhere we fail to complete things, we fall short."

When appointing officials, the head of state also highlighted the issue of exporting construction services. "We produce construction materials, we know how to build. Therefore, we should export construction services as much as possible—but not at the expense of Belarus," emphasized the Belarusian leader.

Alexander Lukashenko acknowledged that there are often labor shortages on construction sites within Belarus. Therefore, sending construction workers abroad must be approached carefully. "But we must try. We must provide engineering services, send specialists," he said.

For instance, in implementing various construction projects in Russia—where there are successful examples—different forms of Belarusian involvement can be considered. "We built it ourselves, or together with local builders, or they built it under our supervision. You decide what works best, depending on the availability of labor resources in Belarus," the head of state instructed.
