Lukashenko on the importance of officer training: serve to protect the Motherland, not for 'apartment and kitchen'
Lukashenko emphasized the importance of officers, stating that an ordinary soldier cannot be trained into an officer in one and a half to two years. 'The main thing is officers. We must not deceive ourselves. If an officer is properly trained and has brains, he will quickly lead soldiers, show them how to act and in which direction,' the Head of State stressed.
'Therefore, officers are the number one issue,' the President added. 'Training must be serious. And if someone does not want to do this, then we are not on the same path.'
Alexander Lukashenko noted that the state has done a lot to ensure proper conditions for training officers in the Armed Forces, as well as for their housing and other living conditions.
