Lukashenko Sends Condolences to Qatar's Emir Over Death of Father

Alexander Lukashenko has sent condolences to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, over the death of the Father Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

The President emphasized that Belarus received the news of Sheikh Hamad’s passing with deep sorrow, noting his exceptional contribution to the establishment of modern Qatar. Under his leadership, the country became one of the leading global centers of economic development, energy, and investment, significantly strengthening its regional standing. The wisdom, statesmanship, and dedication of Sheikh Hamad will forever remain part of Qatar’s history.

Lukashenko stressed that Sheikh Hamad was a true friend to Belarus: “It was the Father Emir who stood at the origins of fruitful cooperation between Minsk and Doha, laying a solid foundation for expanding bilateral relations based on mutual respect, trust, and partnership.”

On behalf of the Belarusian people and personally, the Belarusian leader expressed sincere condolences to the Emir, extended words of support to the royal family, relatives, and close ones of Sheikh Hamad, and to the entire people of the State of Qatar.
