Lukashenko Signs Decree on Fire Safety Measures
Alexander Lukashenko has signed a decree 'On Ensuring Fire Safety'.
The document establishes new general fire safety requirements for the maintenance and operation of capital structures (buildings, facilities), isolated premises, and other objects owned by economic entities. At the same time, redundant and outdated requirements regarding building maintenance, fire safety and firefighting equipment, organization of technological processes, and documentation procedures are eliminated.
Additionally, the State Industrial Supervision of the EMERCOM is granted powers to supervise legal entities engaged in the production of explosives and explosive-containing items, specifically in the areas of manufacturing, storage, transportation, and destruction. This measure aims to streamline industrial safety oversight and reduce excessive regulatory burden on businesses.
The decree also assigns EMERCOM the function of coordinating the activities of the youth public organization of rescuers-firefighters.
