Lukashenko signs decree on stimulating robotization in Belarus

Lukashenko has signed a decree 'On Stimulating Robotization' aimed at implementing tasks outlined in the Socio-Economic Development Programme of the Republic of Belarus for 2026–2030, approved by the decision of the VII All-Belarusian People's Assembly. The programme requires achieving a robotization density of at least 100 units per 10,000 employees in manufacturing by 2030.

The task of robotizing the economy will be carried out in two directions: first, accelerating robot adoption by creating the most favourable conditions for end-users; second, developing domestic robot production and engineering.

To stimulate these areas, the decree provides benefits and preferences for robot consumers, producers, and production-engineering organizations involved in their implementation and integration.

For robot consumers: reduction of the tax base by allowing depreciation with a coefficient of 1.5 for profit tax calculation; exemption of robots from import VAT; full VAT deduction when purchasing robots within Belarus (refund within 30 days).

For producers and engineering companies: exemption of robots and their components from import VAT, and granting High-Tech Park residents the right to sell robot components for warranty and post-warranty service, as well as to lease robots they produce. This will enable a shift in business models from one-time robot sales to comprehensive product management, including pre-project analysis, development, long-term servicing, system integration, and distribution.

Robotization of production is a global practice that enhances product competitiveness by reducing production costs and improving quality. The adoption of the decree is expected to ensure more dynamic development of the sector.
