Lukashenko to hold talks with Uzbekistan's president
Today is the main day of Shavkat Mirziyoyev's official visit to Belarus.
🇧🇾🇺🇿 Uzbekistan is a reliable partner of Belarus in Central Asia. The history of cooperation spans decades. The effectiveness of interaction is confirmed by figures: in 2025, mutual trade reached nearly $855 million.
"I am very pleased with the agreement that in the near future, around 2030, we will achieve a two-billion-dollar trade turnover. This is quite possible, especially since our economies are not competitors," said Alexander Lukashenko during a meeting with the ambassador of Uzbekistan to Belarus on March 9, 2026.
📋 At the Palace of Independence, the leaders will discuss current cooperation issues and new growth areas in Belarusian-Uzbek partnership.
The key topic is the development of industrial cooperation and implementation of joint projects.
📌 A package of international documents is expected to be signed after the talks. The main one is the Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership.
