Main focus of Minsk region report to President is agriculture: feed preparation, crop conditions, livestock
The main focus of the report to the President on the Minsk region was the situation in agriculture: feed preparation rates and field conditions, efforts to ensure livestock safety, construction of modern livestock complexes and calf prophylactoriums, and volumes of agricultural production. President Alexander Lukashenko’s interest in these matters is not accidental — the region traditionally leads the country in agricultural output. Lukashenko closely inquired about the progress of feed preparation. The first mowing of grass has been completed, and in more southern districts, the second mowing has already begun. According to Alexei Kushnarenko, the emphasis is less on speed and more on the quality of feed storage. The head of state paid special attention to the construction of prophylactoriums for calves. In the coming months, 111 such facilities are planned to be built in the region, with construction progressing ahead of schedule. Agricultural production has also grown steadily in other areas, with overall output up nearly 7% since the beginning of the year. Crop conditions in the Minsk region are currently optimistic. The region expects to harvest at least as much grain as last year, but has set a more ambitious target — reaching 3 million tons. Regarding socio-economic development, the head of state was informed that the agro-industrial complex remains a key growth driver. Positive dynamics are also observed in industry, exports of goods and services, freight turnover, and wholesale and retail trade, with a trend toward decreasing inventory levels. An important focus is attracting investments into regional projects and tourism services, all aimed at creating new jobs and quality economic growth points. Next week, the Minsk region, together with the capital, will host events of the XIII Belarus-Russia Regions Forum. President Lukashenko is personally overseeing preparations. Alexei Kushnarenko assured the head of state that the region is ready and intends to fully use the opportunity to showcase its potential across various sectors.
