Major forest fire in western France spreads to 2,000 hectares, 12,000 evacuated
A major forest fire in the Gironde department in western France has engulfed 2,000 hectares, with around 12,000 people evacuated as a precaution, according to BFMTV. As of Wednesday evening, the fire covered 900 hectares, but due to strong winds and hot weather in the region, the flames spread rapidly.
