Massacre of Jewish population in Slutsk by Nazis in 1941–1943

On October 27–28, 1941, Nazis carried out a mass execution of the Jewish population in Slutsk. Later, in February 1943, the Slutsk Ghetto was completely destroyed — more than 3,000 people were burned alive. The fire in the ghetto lasted three days. In total, fascists murdered between 5,000 and 8,000 Jews. Only a few survived by joining the partisans.

💬 Slutsk resident Klara Kagan was one of the witnesses of the Hitlerites' atrocities. Today, a memorial plaque in memory of the victims of the Slutsk Ghetto is installed on Kopylskaya Street in Slutsk.
