Minibus driver in Gomismta crash faces up to 10 years in prison
The driver of a minibus involved in a crash at the Gomismta resort faces up to 10 years in prison. Investigators found that the driver was not licensed to transport passengers and failed to ensure the safe operation of the vehicle. The man has been detained, and the prosecutor's office will seek his pre-trial detention.
The tragedy occurred on August 12. The minibus, carrying a group of Belarusian tourists, veered off the road and fell into a ravine, colliding with a tree. The driver managed to jump out during the fall. Four Belarusian citizens died in the accident, and 16 passengers, including six children, were injured and remain in hospital.
