Minimum alimony in Belarus may be revised

The minimum alimony amount in Belarus may be revised. Currently, it is tied to the subsistence minimum budget, which is 530 rubles and 37 kopecks. If a parent is employed, the amount is calculated as a percentage of income: 25% for one child, 33% for two children, and 50% for three or more. If a parent has a low income, works part-time, or is unemployed, the alimony is based on the subsistence minimum. Currently, over 105,000 enforcement proceedings for alimony collection are underway in the country. Behind each number is a child waiting. According to the Ministry of Justice, after the introduction of 'legal' restrictions, nearly half of the debtors immediately expressed willingness to settle their debts.
