Ministry of Health assesses threat of new tick-borne virus from China for Belarus

An outbreak of ALTNV has been recorded in China, where over 300 cases have been detected. However, the tick species that carry this virus do not inhabit Belarus, and the country has capabilities for diagnosis and treatment.

There is no specific therapy or vaccine available — treatment is symptomatic. When traveling to high-risk areas, wearing closed clothing and using repellents are recommended.
