Minsk May Replace Metro Trains with Trams by 2027

Trams produced by Belkommunmash may be introduced into the Minsk metro system by 2027. Alexander Lukashenko has ordered an assessment of the feasibility of using domestically produced trams in the subway, which could reduce the need for importing metro trains. The company already manufactures three-section trams for Chelyabinsk that operate both on surface streets and underground—a system known as a 'metro-tram'.
