Minsk Metro passes under Svislach River — section construction complete

The Minsk Metro has successfully passed under the Svislach River — construction of the section is complete. Work began in spring 2026. The river was not drained: its bed was divided into several sections, and work was carried out sequentially without affecting the flow of the Svislach. A monolithic reinforced concrete slab has been installed beneath the river to protect the tunnels from soil subsidence and water. The metro will run approximately 8 meters below the riverbed.
