Minsk Pauses Large-Scale Tram Network Expansion

Minsk has temporarily paused large-scale expansion of its tram network. In the near future, the city does not plan to build new tram lines to districts currently not served by trams. The main focus of city authorities is now on developing the metro system.

However, trams will remain in operation: existing tracks will be repaired, and the tram fleet will be renewed. Twenty new tram cars have already been deployed on route №1.
