Minsk police checking online reports of possible animal abuser

The Minsk police are conducting a check into reports of possible illegal actions against animals by a 26-year-old resident. During internet monitoring, police identified a series of messages about an alleged animal abuser — a young man who was convicted in 2022 for animal cruelty. "The investigation has established that the man has been outside the capital for some time. Information that he took an animal from a volunteer has not been confirmed so far," the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs reported. Law enforcement urges citizens not to spread rumors or panic. "If you have reliable information about offenses committed by this Minsk resident, immediately report it to the duty units of district departments or by calling 102. Spreading false information online is punishable by law," police emphasized.
