Minskzelenstroi explains why trees in Minsk are drying out

The main reasons are soil salinization and pollution, as well as difficult urban conditions: road chemicals in winter, heat, flooding, and asphalt that prevents roots from receiving air and moisture.

To save the trees, specialists flush the soil to remove salts, fertilize the trees, treat them against pests, and regularly monitor their condition. If a tree has died or become dangerous, it is removed in accordance with legislation.
