Myanmar demolishes dozens of scam call center buildings near Thai border

Several dozen buildings of fraudulent call centers are being demolished in Myanmar near the border with Thailand, the country's Ministry of Information reported.

The demolitions are taking place in the city of Shwe Kokko in several phases; the second phase began today, aiming to destroy the remaining 62 buildings out of 140.

In 2026, Myanmar authorities demolished 635 buildings of the country's largest scam complex, KK Park, in Myawaddy, a process that took about three months.
