NATO unsure of Trump's true intentions regarding Greenland, calls for contingency plan
NATO is uncertain about US President Donald Trump's true intentions regarding Greenland and believes the alliance needs a contingency plan in case Washington raises the issue again, Financial Times reports. The publication notes that European leaders hope Trump is merely using the topic of Greenland as a way to pressure allies. One NATO official told the newspaper that the American leader's remarks about US control over the island do not appear to be part of a coherent Washington strategy. "We can't hope this issue will just disappear. We need a real plan," emphasized another unnamed alliance diplomat.
