Netherlands plans to use TikTok to recruit new soldiers

The Dutch Ministry of Defense plans to expand its presence on social media, including using TikTok to recruit young military personnel.

However, since 2023, Dutch officials have been banned from installing TikTok on official phones due to national security concerns.

One proposed solution is a separate phone dedicated solely to TikTok, which would not be allowed to connect to government networks. A similar approach is already being used by Amsterdam authorities, who returned to the social network to engage with younger audiences.
