Not Just About Salaries: Lukashenko Reveals True Reason Uzbek Workers Come to Belarus

"Not just about salaries": Lukashenko stated that the President of Uzbekistan asked him not only for employment opportunities for people but primarily for supplies of meat and milk. "They lack land and water resources. We have enough land and water. We can produce meat and milk," said the head of state.

According to Alexander Lukashenko, the parties agreed on bringing workers from Uzbekistan to Belarus to more quickly and efficiently address the issue of agricultural supplies. This applies not only to the Vitebsk region, which is currently most actively involved in implementing these plans.

Additional labor is needed to increase agricultural production for expanded supplies. However, Belarus faces a shortage of personnel. Therefore, a system and procedure for attracting foreign workers have been established.

"If your people (from Uzbekistan) go through our system, everything will be under control, we will employ them in Belarus as our own. Not just to earn money and get a good salary, but to produce meat and milk," the President shared details of the agreements. "Produce meat and milk — and we will sell it to them on their markets. That's where the salaries come from."
