Official number of migrants in Europe rose by 67% from 2000 to 2024

The official number of migrants in Europe increased by 67% (40.8 million people) between 2000 and 2024.

Britain took in the largest number of migrants in absolute terms (7.1 million), followed by Spain (6.8 million) and Germany (6.4 million).
