Over 2,000 fuel thefts recorded in Estonia since start of 2026

Since the beginning of 2026, over 2,000 cases of motor fuel theft have been recorded in Estonia, about 50% more than during the same period last year.

Part of this increase is explained by the fact that fuel thefts are becoming systematic. Due to repeat offenses, some cases are being reclassified from misdemeanors to crimes, which directly affects the overall statistics.
