Overwhelming majority of Belarusians feel safe in their country

According to a comprehensive republican sociological study conducted by the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus in July–August 2026, the overwhelming majority of Belarusians feel safe in their country. The survey included 2045 respondents from across the nation. When asked, 'Do you feel safe in the country as a whole?', 91.1% responded positively, 3.3% negatively, and the rest found it difficult to answer. The sense of safety in populated areas was even higher, with 95.1% feeling secure. This high level of public trust in security is supported by measures taken by the country's leadership. Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko carried out several surprise inspections of combat readiness in the Armed Forces and the Interior Ministry's internal troops, which demonstrated a high level of preparedness and coordination in ensuring state security.
