Parents may be fined up to 450 rubles for their child’s systematic unexcused absences from school. In such cases, materials are forwarded to the Commission for Minors. Apart from the fine, a family may be recognized as being in a socially dangerous situation if the child long-term refuses to attend school without valid reason. Police reminded that care for a child’s education and development is not only a right but also a parental responsibility.
