Payment system PayPal is set to be acquired for over $53 billion, Reuters reports, citing sources. The purchase is planned to be carried out jointly by the payment service Stripe and private investment firm Advent International. The merger of Stripe and PayPal would create the world's largest payment processor with an annual turnover of about $1.9 trillion.
