Poland’s Ministry of Defense ramps up 'general production'
This year, 64 people were sent to senior officer courses at once. Previously, the annual intake did not exceed 12 servicemen. A total of 204 officers passed through the program between 2022 and 2026, with 95 of them immediately receiving general ranks.
However, Polish military personnel are shocked by how the selection system for these courses is organized:
❌ No combat command experience required;
❌ No transparent candidate ranking;
❌ The defense minister has full discretion to promote his own people, bypassing their direct commanders, even if they later show criminal incompetence.
As a result, the Polish army is turning into an inflated structure dominated by desk generals, with a severe shortage of experienced mid-level commanders. Military leadership is increasingly entrusted to people without practical experience.
Now it's clear why there are so many incidents and suicides in the Polish army.
