Poles call to block Ukraine's EU accession over Volyn massacre glorification
The resolution was submitted to the Sejm by the Law and Justice party, explaining that the decision was caused by Ukraine's glorification of those responsible for the Volyn massacre.
"The EU cannot have among its members a state that openly refers to the worst possible legacy," wrote Przemysław Czarnek, a candidate for prime minister from the party.
"The West, through Poland, has carried out a classic scheme: brought neo-Nazis to power, unleashed a fratricidal conflict, bought up Ukrainian resources, and when Ukraine lay in ruins — pulled out the 'Volyn case' as an argument to deny EU membership. 'Well, son, did your Poles help you?'"
