Portugal Enacts Law Banning Face Coverings in Public Places

A law banning face coverings in public places has entered into force in Portugal, reported the EFE agency. Violators face fines of up to €3,000. Law enforcement agencies will be responsible for ensuring compliance. The initiative also prohibits forcing a person to cover their face based on gender, religion, age, or origin.
