President on people's militia: 'I meant for every village council to have one'
The President said that when creating this structure, he intended for there to be a people's militia in every village council. According to the Head of State, village councils are meant to serve as the foundation for this structure.
Explaining the need for a people's militia, the President emphasized:
"I don't want every second person to die as during the war. Entire families were wiped out, and we couldn't respond. Someone has to protect the family.
We are men, we must be able to handle weapons, at least shoot from a rifle, pistol, or machine gun — small arms. We must protect ourselves, our families, and our villages."
