President on People's Militia:

"It was my initiative. Not everyone understood whether it was needed or not. But I proceeded from the people: in every rural council there should be a support unit. These people must be able to protect themselves, their families, and their children."

Also, the Head of State warned that in the near future, the people's militia and territorial defense will undergo verification, calling the assurance of their readiness a top national security issue.
