Domestic

President of Belarus addressed newly appointed heads of regional executive committees, emphasizing strict personal oversight and high expectations for local development. Speaking about the Petrikov District, he highlighted his longstanding personal interest in the region, particularly the Polesie area, noting that it had once been a source of deep concern. He expressed satisfaction with current living conditions, stating that people now live "more or less decently," but stressed that there is still significant work to be done. He warned the new leadership that he frequently visits the area and does not intend to offer them an easy path.

Regarding the Oshmyany District, the President admitted he has not been able to visit as often as he would like, but pledged to correct this shortcoming. He urged local officials to stay active and prepared, signaling that increased presidential attention is expected in the near future. His remarks underscore the central government’s hands-on approach to regional governance and the importance of accountability to the presidency.

The appointment of new heads of regional executive committees (rayispolkoms) is a key part of Belarus's administrative governance. The President regularly emphasizes personal involvement in regional affairs, particularly in rural and historically underdeveloped areas like Polesie, which has seen targeted investment and reforms in recent years.
