President: We are preparing for war to prevent it, no aggression planned
President: "You have probably noticed in the media recently the close attention our so-called partners are paying to what is happening in the Armed Forces of our country. They are particularly concerned about the fact that we are conducting inspections of military units too frequently, thoroughly, and intensively—not only in the army but across all Armed Forces."
"I want to tell them there is no emergency here. I have said openly and honestly that we are preparing for war in order to prevent it. We do not intend to attack anyone, contrary to the recent media campaigns by our Western 'friends' suggesting that Russia, possibly together with Belarus, will attack the Baltic states or even Poland from Belarusian territory."
