Republican tree-planting campaign 'Give the forest a new life!' begins in Belarus

The large-scale republican campaign "Give the forest a new life!" has launched across Belarus, aimed at restoring forest areas severely damaged by destructive storms.

Senators and leadership of the Council of the Republic joined the green effort at the Borovlyansky Special Forestry.

Politicians and youth planted thousands of young trees, laying the foundation for future forests.

"This is great, wonderful. We understand that this is primarily ecology, the health of our people. But an important factor is also the economy. After all, forests are something we have and can export," emphasized Natalya Kochanova, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic.

The green initiative united generations — from experienced politicians to members of the Youth Council, working side by side for a common future.

"Today we are filling these lungs with fresh oxygen. We are working not for quantity, but for the quality of our lives, the quality of our country, and the quality of life for our future generations — our children and grandchildren," said Sergei Aleinik, Chairperson of the Standing Commission of the Council of the Republic.
