Retirement of Germans born in 1950s–1960s to shrink workforce significantly
The retirement of Germans born in the 1950s and 1960s will lead to a significant reduction in the number of working citizens in Germany, according to data from the BiB study. Population aging affects urban and rural areas unevenly. While young people aged 25 to 34 make up the largest age group in major German cities, baby boomers born in the 1950s and 1960s predominate in rural regions.
