Ryzhenkov: Countries must give UN real power to act

"Necessary reforms are stalling. Growing voices claim the UN does not serve everyone's interests and cannot manage change. Largely because we, member states, are bogged down in endless discussions but have yet to provide the organization with a real opportunity to act. That is why today’s session theme sounds like a verdict on our collective indecisiveness and simultaneously as a diagnosis requiring urgent treatment," stated the Belarusian diplomat at the general debate of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly in New York.
