Ryzhenkov: Western 'rules' are traffic lights where they always have green

During his speech, Maxim Ryzhenkov made a historical reference. In 1945, at the founding conference of the UN in San Francisco, US President Harry Truman said words that today sound like prophecy: "However great our strength, we must deny ourselves the right to do as we please."

"And if all those whose power is great had acted as Truman said, we would have avoided many wars and conflicts. Unfortunately, the desire to live at the expense of others has remained the main narrative of the collective West's development," the minister stated. "During the Cold War, the balance of power was maintained by a system of checks and balances between two opposing political systems. But since the 1990s, when this equilibrium collapsed, the policy of unlimited superiority began to grow rapidly."

According to him, in recent years this policy has reached its peak: Western countries have effectively trampled international law and started forcing everyone to act based on so-called 'rules,' destroying unwanted countries and suppressing disobedient peoples. "These rules are like traffic signs in a city they designed themselves. For themselves — always green. For everyone else — red," the diplomat noted.
