San Francisco Archdiocese to Pay $395M in Child Abuse Claims
As reported by The Guardian, the Archdiocese of the Catholic Church in San Francisco will pay $395 million in compensation to victims of abuse by priests and church officials. Under the settlement, Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone will have to personally write apology letters to each victim. The archdiocese will also carry out a series of reforms to increase transparency and protect children.
