Scrolling Is Damaging a Generation, Says Media Expert
Mikhail Kanavtsev, vice-rector of the 'Senezh' management workshop and head of the new media workshop, speaks about how much time children should spend on social media and why the harm caused by it is incalculable.
"What is the normal amount of time, and how much should children be allowed on social media? How harmful is the feed scrolling algorithm?
It is catastrophically harmful because scrolling through a feed essentially leads to clip thinking. Clip thinking is a fragmented cluster.
❌ A person becomes unable to understand complex material or master educational programs. We are getting an entire generation of rather detached, incompletely raised children.
And this is already a huge threat. Its damage cannot be measured in money."
